Nice app, very useful as a quick reference tool.
Nice app, very useful as a quick reference tool.
Im disappointed in this application - too many drugs are just not listed: cerenia to name two I searched for today. I found Plumbs formulary as an isolo app much better.
Simple and basic, which is good, BUT there is no drug data for large animals (equine and food animals) and there are obsolete things like the radiographs and several of the calculators.
I think this app could be much better. The app doesnt state whether the dose is for dogs or cats or both. Just looked up Cisplatin and theres a dose even though it shouldnt be used for cats. Maybe a C D designation for cat dog. Makes me concerned to use it when out in field and need a dose. Not all doses are same for both spp
This app is great! Its well made, I love the calculators and the formulary is improving. I would like to be able to search the formulary based on generic and trade names and save commonly used drugs as "favorites" (Ive seen that function in other formulary apps). Overall, its a very useful app, though. Theyve done a great job of updating based on reviews. I think this app is well worth the money. :)
This is generally a great app. No faults, easy to use and very nice. Two complaints. You need to make it so i can also search for the generalized medicines name such as tresaderm instead of thiabendazole, dexamethasone, and neomycin. Most people know the generalized term such as metacam over the specific name. Also, a huge and easy improvement would be to include the major vaccinations for dogs and cats. Include where they should be given, possible side effects, when they should be given. Etc. Will change to 5 stars if both are changed. Change to 4 if one is changed. Thanks!
This app falls far short of my expectations.. Formulary is next to useless since I will be going to Plumb anyway for in depth information. Radiograph images are distorted and only three examples of a diseased joints are presented. I will likely delete this app and wish I had spent $10 on a good lunch instead..
The IPad version crashes
I guess there really is an app for everything, now I have a formulary in my pocket, pretty cool. Everything works well on both my iPhone and iPad. The app does everything it says it does, good job. Just wanted to add that the update is really nice, the new calculators are cool!
This application is very helpful, however including more exotics in the hematology and normals would be a beneficial reference. Some basic primate levels as well as more avian would be e greatly appreciated update
This is a useful program which I I have been using to access drug doses and perform calculations. It gets the formulary onto my phone where it is quite useful. If I am not at the hospital and need a dose, it is right there on my phone. There is a notes section which is nice. I would like to see a place where a person could insert their own medicines with doses and use the calculator functions. Thank you. I do recommend this application as it helps me in my practice. Bravo to the person who did all the work to make this program a reality. Frank Kocher
Dangerous! There needs to be an indication of which animal the doses are intended for! Acetaminophen is toxic to cats! I have taken a course in Vet Pharmacology and this app is garbage!!!
I use this app daily, the calculators are very useful. Formulary and Hematology sections are great for quick reference, dosages are marked with C or D for cat or dog. I didnt find the X-Rays real useful, but perhaps they are for some people, they dont bother me being there though. This app was recommended to me by a friend, and I recommend it to others!
App is okay, there needs to be a distinction between dog and cat dosages that is more clear. Otherwise mistakes could be made. Also a dog and cat emergency drug calculator where you put in cat or dog and then weight and you get doses for CPR in one list similar to ICU sheets. The radiographs are kinda a joke and mostly useless if you have any formal training. I do like the conversion and CRI calculators. The formulary is useful but I feel that I have to check doses in plumb because of the lack of species distinction. Also the drugs could have more info such as use with caution in liver failure etc or side effects include....these things would help make the formulary more useable and safe
The app is OK but very limited in information. More like a .99 cent application.
Although this is a handy app, there are some major weaknesses. The general hematology values are ok, but you should still use whatever reference values your lab or equipment provide. Many of the calculators are handy, but also fairly simple. My main complaints are with the formulary. First, it is lacking many drugs that are regularly used in veterinary medicine, and also doesnt always provide dosages for parenteral routes, only PO. Second, you can not search by trade name. Say you want to look up dosages for Metacam, but dont remember the drug name...too bad. When you search for Meloxicam the trade name Metacam shows up under it, but you cant search for it. Also, acepromazine is only found under acetylpromazine, which most people in the US dont use. Ive had this app for over a year and was really hoping for some updates, especially to the formulary, but have been sadly disappointed. If the formulary was improved and updated regularly, Id probably give the app four stars, but as it stands, 2 is probably generous.
The calculator section has been very useful, but the X-ray section is very limited and almost useless. Also, this app is missing many drugs that are commonly used. Another issue is that you are unable to search for drugs by trade name, it is usually listed under the drug, but you can not search for it. It seems a little expensive for what it provides.
This app is pretty good. I like the quick calculators and drug dosing guide. The X-ray section is very basic and could some improvement. Overall I would recommend this app.
Ive been having trouble using this app because every time i go to make a new note and toggle between the existing ones, the app crashes and completely erases the most recent note i wrote. My notes are fairly long considering i use this app to make notes about my veterinary clinicals. please please please fix this problem!!!!!!
Calculators are the most useful aspect. X-ray section is a joke, the space would better served using it correct deficiencies in the drug formulary (making dosing species specific, including parenteral dosing, cautions, etc.). Good start but needs work.
